Our Aspirations for 2019

by Holly Wood,

2019 will be a milestone year for Radiance, and we're so looking forward to what it holds.

We love to start our year with intention, and we've enjoyed setting our goals and priorities for the year ahead.

Sustainable commitment

In 2019, we’ll be focusing on being part of the commitment to a more sustainable world, specifically when it comes to packaging. At Radiance we strive to be as environmentally friendly as we possibly can, by using 100% BPA free recycled bottles, ethically sourced cool bags, recycling and reducing our juice miles when we can. But we know there is always more we can do, and we’re looking forward to rising to the challenge this year.

A beacon for food quality

The world is changing, and with Brexit posing many challenges for food businesses, many of us are worrying about the impact leaving the EU may have on both the ethical and environmental standards of food coming into the UK. At times like this we are proud to be certified organic – an independent verification of the standard of our ingredients and our supply chain.

With a challenging year ahead, we can be confident that our Radiance clients will continue to receive products that they can trust and are second-to-none when it comes to quality.

Our personal aspirations

As a team, our aspirations for 2019 all centre around being more connected. We want to connect more with likeminded people in the wellness industry, we have so much to learn from one another! And of course, we want to connect more with our customers. We want to understand more about what you want and how we can continue to improve our offering year after year, not just during 2019.

From celebrating our 10th birthday all the way to determining what Brexit means for us all, 2019 is set to be a busy year. But by focusing on the quality of our products and staying connected to our customers and likeminded individuals, we’re planning for a successful year here at Radiance.

Our top 5 ways to enjoy nut mylk

by Holly Wood, , link

Plant-based milks, or 'mylks', once a little known secret - are fast becoming a billion dollar business across the world. With a host of nutritional benefits, and kinder to the environment too - choosing to integrate a plant-based milk into your lifestyle is a swap many of us are making.

At Radiance, we've been making our nut-based mylks for almost 10 years. Here's some of our favourite ideas for how to use them.

1. An ‘on-the go’ meal

Mylks with a high enough nut content, such Radiance’s Cashew Mylks (14% cashew nuts), are perfect for those occasions when you’re out and about with no time to stop and need an ‘on-the-go’ meal. The combination of protein and good fats will keep you energised, stop your blood-sugar levels dropping and avoid you feeling too full.

2. With your breakfast

It may seem obvious, but nut mylk is the perfect companion with breakfast. Try it with a homemade granola or your overnight oats for an indulgent alternative to your regular milk. If you choose a truly fresh and unpasteurised mylk, you’ll get the added nutritional goodness from the nuts in their raw form.

3. As a hot drink

When heated slowly on a stove, mylks make delicious hot drinks to enjoy on a winter’s evening. Depending on the flavour, you can even add some spices (try cinnamon!) to give it a little extra boost. Our Cacoa Cashew is a particular favourite for those looking for a delicious alternative to a hot cocoa.

4. In your puddings

If, like us, you have a sweet tooth, then you’ll love using mylks to create tasty desserts. If you’re looking for a healthier recipe, try our Passionfruit Chia Pot. You can use any type of plant-based mylk for this recipe; almond, cashew, hazelnut or even oat milk.

5. For savoury dishes

And finally, though it may come as a bit of a surprise, you can even use nut mylk in more savoury dishes! For this one we wouldn’t recommend using a Radiance mylk, due to the high nut content causing separation, but if you fancy trying your hand at Vegan Mac and Cheese we can highly recommend the Rebel Kitchen mylk. For this recipe, if you’re Gluten Free, just swap the pasta for a GF alternative.

Our favourite alcohol alternatives

by Alexandra Williams, , link

We'd be surprised if you haven't heard about 'Dry January' - everyone seems to have an opinion on it this year. At Radiance, we'd only ever recommend alcohol in moderation - and feel that a better mantra should be around finding delicious alcohol alternatives you can enjoy all year around, rather than feeling like you need to deprive yourself for one month of the year.

As with all habits - consistency is key. We're much more likely to consistently choose something when we love it, and so we've rounded up our top choices for a sophisticated drink - with no alcohol! Try them for January, and we're certain you'll be loving them way past the 31st...

Seedlip Non Alcohol Distilled Botanical Spirit
£27.99
Available at Waitrose and widely across London

Why we love it...

We first tried Seedlip way back when they launched in 2015, and this brand has come a long way since then! Expertly chosen botanicals are distilled, and the alcohol is removed. The result - a spirit which tastes remarkably like gin, but with no alcohol, sugar or preservatives. We love 'Grove 42' with Citrus notes, perfect with ice, lemon and tonic.

Daylesford Kombucha
From £3.49
Available at Daylesford stores in London and online.

Why we love it...

Kombucha is a fantastic alcohol alternative - it's fermented taste means it replicates the real thing, and comes with added probiotic benefits. An ancient drink which makes for a very modern antidote. Our favourite is the punchy 'Ginger' - delicious simply on it's own.

Pri Secco - Alcohol Free Organic Bubbly
£9.50
Available at Abel and Cole

Why we love it ...

We're not a fan of most non alcohol wines, as they are often full of sugar and concentrates. Though not quite a wine, we enjoyed this sparkling drink which had plenty of complex notes from organic herbs, spices and flowers. Perfect if you have a celebration this month!
